50 States commit to make precise and practical recommendations

In their traditional yearly statement at the Human Rights Council (HRC), the United Kingdom and Morocco, joined by 48 other States, took the commiment to make "precise, practical, constructive, forward looking and implementable" recommendations.

Following previous statements made since 2012 at the March session, the 50 States also committed to the following points:

- Give a maximum of two recommendations to each State under Review;

- Provide an update on the implementation of recommendations through a mid-term report, "or through another alternative process";

- Refer to or reiterate previous recommendations to the State under Review when appropriate;

- Use conventional and social media to raise greater awareness of the UPR and improve access to UPR webcasts and documents.
